Asthma is a disease of the airways that makes it difficult to move air in and out of the lungs. With the right treatment and lifestyle changes, most cases of asthma can be controlled and serious consequences can be avoided.

ZYFLO CR acts by blocking the formation of chemicals called leukotrienes (luke-oh-try'-enz), which are in part responsible for the inflammatory response that causes asthma symptoms.

ZYFLO CR is an oral medication that is used in the prevention and daily treatment of asthma in adults and children 12 years of age and older. ZYFLO CR is not a rescue medicine and should not be used if you need relief right away for an asthma attack, but you may continue to take ZYFLO CR during sudden asthma attacks.

ZYFLO CR is indicated for the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma in adults and children 12 years of age and older. ZYFLO CR is not indicated for use in the reversal of bronchospasm in acute asthma attacks, but may be continued during acute exacerbations of asthma.
